Reader Art for Clockwork Heart

Matthew Silber Clockwork HeartSilver Lake Design graphic artist Matthew Silber was kind enough to give me permission to show everyone the cover he designed after reading Clockwork Heart. He says about it, “I felt compelled to illustrate Taya in her icarus flight gear. I hoped to capture the setting of Ondinium with its industrial structures in the background, the Yeovil mountains in the far distance, and Taya leaping into the air with a message in hand.”

I especially like the inclusion of the autumn leaves here — I tried to bring nature into the city with my occasional references to gusting winds and rattling leaves, so I appreciate the contrast Matthew created here between Ondinium’s treeless, industrial cityscape and the brightly colored oak leaves. Since the Santa Anas are gusting hard today here in Southern California, it feels especially appropriate to the season….

Thank you, Matthew! 🙂

I read, write, roleplay, travel, teach, and occasionally do research. I am a lizard, a warrior, a minimalist, and a scholar.
