Steampunk Romance: The Next Big Thing?
Clockwork Heart, Steampunk Comments (2)
A guest post by Heather Massey over at Dear Author is titled “The Case for Steampunk Romance“:
Steampunk romance is a subgenre that’s ripe for exploring. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened before now to any great degree. While steampunk-as-argument generally explores many dark themes in the science fiction arena, it’s the Edisonade components of the genre that have the most potential to bear succulent fruit when paired with romance.
Massey recommends several steampunk romances, including Clockwork Heart, and calls for romance writers to continue exploring the genre. If you’re thinking about exploring the genre, either as a reader or writer, be certain check out her post and publisher recommendations!

Hello!
I’m just here to let you know how much I absolutely adored CLOCKWORK HEART. I just finished it last night and it’s already earned itself a permanent spot on my “favorites” bookshelf. My favorite part was easily the interaction between Taya and Cristof, but the whole thing was fabulous. I’m so excited you’re writing a sequel. You’ve created a great world
And, awesome to learn that steampunk romance is gaining popularity, since steampunk is one of my favorite genres.
I’m glad you enjoyed CH! Thank you so much; that’s the very best thing a writer can hear.
