The manuscript for the Clockwork Heart sequel is back in my agent’s hands, after the summer’s revision!
I’m also gearing up for National Novel Writing Month, which will be upon us in November. I’ve been tinkering around on Imprimatur, a male/male steampunk romance, for a while now, and I think it’s time to make it my NaNoWriMo project. It’s been a bit of a change of pace for me — the male/male part, that is, not the steampunk romance part — but I’ve read my share of BL manga and m/m romance novels over the years, and I’m ready to give it a shot.
Speaking of steampunk, I’m working on an academic paper about steampunk romance and erotica. I hadn’t planned to become a practicing steampunk scholar, but it seems I’ve slipped into it, anyway! Which is, in part, why I haven’t updated Steampunkology recently — but I promise I’ll get back to reviewing the literature within a few weeks, after the initial chaos of the new academic year settles down into a routine again.
