Overview & Visual Setting
A three-panel watercolor comic set inside the noisy, crowded interior of the “Dog & Frog” pub. Lady Penelope Peacock arrives and catches Professor Genevieve in the act of exchanging a bag of coins for a newly purchased camera.
Panel 1
Visual Description: A large, detailed upper panel showing the lively pub atmosphere. Signs on the wall read “Drink One A Day BLACKTHORN”, “ENGLISH PROFS CASH ONLY”, and “Chemists Assure Us Alcohol is a Solution”. An oval inset in the top left shows Lady Penelope stepping through the doorway mat, which reads Welcome Dog & Frog backwards.
In the foreground, Lady Penelope approaches a round wooden table where Professor Genevieve sits alongside a shady-looking patron in a tall hat. A camera sits on the table next to a pile of gold coins and a drawstring money bag, the same seen earlier in Lady Peacock’s office.
Professor Genevieve:
“Thanks, Mac. You’re a lifesaver! I swear I’ll get the rest of the money to you soon.”
Lady Penelope Peacock:
“That money bag — why, Professor Gin! You’re the embezzler?”
Panel 2
Visual Description: Split-screen close-up of Professor Genevieve recoiling in shock and sweating nervously as Lady Penelope confronts her across the table, hands extended toward the coins.
Professor Genevieve:
“Uh, er, Lady Penny! Imagine running into you here in The Embers!”
Lady Penelope Peacock:
“Why, you money-misappropriating miscreant! Don’t you ever call me Penny! And give me back those filched funds!”
Panel 3
Visual Description: Action panel. Professor Genevieve throws her hands up in terror as Lady Penelope raises her walking cane, ready to strike. Next to them, the shady camera seller in a black coat and top hat quickly scoops up the stack of gold coins and the money bag to flee the commotion.
Sound Effect (Professor Genevieve shouting):
OH, CRAP!
